In addition to regular home visiting support, we aim to provide activities which help to improve family life.

Safe At Home Scheme
Any family with a child under the age of 5 years, in receipt of benefits can access free safety equipment advice.  This is part of the support package, to help reduce the risks of accidents within the family’s homes.  We work in partnership with Rochdale Boroughwide Housing and Strategic Housing who have a handyperson that will carry out a home risk assessment, fit safety gates, fireguards, cupboard locks, corner cushions, cord winders and window restrictors.  There is no charge for this equipment; we only ask that the families return these items when they are no longer needed.

Summer Trips
Each year, Home-Start provides a summer trip for all families receiving support.  Additional funds are raised by the scheme, to enable the whole family to enjoy the day, free of charge.
Practical support is provided on the day by volunteers and staff members.
Each year, we ask parents views on where our next trip should be held.
